1. Hormonal Health Evaluation

Our experts provide an experienced, proactive approach to managing and preventing osteoporosis, peri-menopausal and menopausal symptoms, breast cancer and more. We can provide the guidance and advice you need to make decisions about natural alternatives to hormone therapy, maximizing your sexuality and lifestyle management. You will spend extensive time with our physicians to ensure you get the answers to your questions.

2. Comprehensive History and Physical Examination

Our medical staff thoroughly reviews your medical history, family history and other factors that might contribute to future disease. Our expert physicians will work with you to create an individualized plan to help you make the most of your health future.

3. Coronary Artery Scan

Your exam includes a 64-Slice CT Coronary Artery Scan. Heart disease is by far the leading cause of death among women. Heart attacks kill more women than all cancers combined. This fast, painless, non-claustrophobic scan can detect the earliest signs of coronary artery disease when it can be easily and effectively treated.

4. Bone Densitometry and Body Composition Analysis

Our state-of-the-art DEXA scanner quickly and painlessly measures the calcium content of your bones. Osteoporosis is the leading cause of fractures and hip replacements in post-menopausal women. If you are at risk, we will help you with the dietary, exercise and treatment strategies that will immediately start to strengthen your bones.

The DEXA scan is also the state-of-the-art for measuring body composition and visceral fat. By precisely measuring muscle and lean body mass, as well as percent body fat, we can individually tailor your fitness and nutritional program as well as identify risk factors for future illness.

5. Laboratory Tests

Our laboratory tests will evaluate the current health of your internal organs, check for anemia, diabetes, liver and kidney disease, thyroid and hormonal deficiencies, as well as assess your risk for coronary artery disease and screen for early warning signs of cancer.

6. Women's Cancer Screening

Early cancer detection is crucial to protecting your health. The smaller and more localized a cancer is, the better the chances are for curing it.

Screening Mammography is available through at our Shelton, Connecticut, office through our partnership with Advanced Radiology Consultants. Advanced Radiology combines their reputation for excellence with compasionate care.

The Princeton Longevity Women's Health Exam includes a Thin-Prep Pap Smear for the most accurate screening for cervical cancer. All our exams also include testing for Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) as part of the Pap Smear procedure. HPV accounts for more than 90% of cervical cancers. This test allows us to determine if you are at high or low risk for cervical cancer. Women who have never been exposed to HPV do not need to have a Pap Smear done annually.

For those concerned about ovarian or uterine cancer risk, we offer the option of Pelvic Ultrasound through Advanced Radiology Consultants. Ultrasound can painlessly and non-invasively detect early signs of many cancers as well as aneurysms, ovarian cysts, endometrial disease and other potentially dangerous conditions.

7. Women's Nutrition Program

It's easy to be confused by all the conflicting advice you see and hear about what you should eat. Our expert dietitians will show you how to make your diet dramatically healthier. They take into account your lifestyle, fitness, medical history and any other special needs to create an individualized nutrition plan. We will help you understand the importance of each component of a healthy diet, including which vitamins or supplements can help you stay active and maintain optimal health.

8. Women's Exercise Program

We show you how to stimulate your body to produce the natural hormones that are essential for increasing your energy level, decreasing body fat, keeping your skin looking youthful plus many other benefits. Stretching exercises help to keep your body lithe and limber, enabling you to twist and turn like a young person, without backache or other pain. A good aerobic workout strengthens the heart, improves the quality of your sleep and increases your energy level. Strength-training maintains muscle mass. Since muscle is more metabolically active than fat (meaning that muscle burns more calories than fat), your metabolism will increase and you will ultimately burn more fat. The improvements in posture, muscle and body fat distribution will make you look younger, sexier and healthy.

Our exercise physiologists will design a personalized exercise plan that fits into your busy lifestyle. We will show you how a fitness program does not have to require expensive equipment or large amounts of time to have a dramatic effect on your well-being now and in your future.
